The manual states that this setup should work with the WDTV but it is not. Does anyone have any suggestions? Mainly just trying to figure out how to get all these new features to work over network share.
Put the USB on the Live and let it do its thing. Also, what do you mean by zero length file? Are we talking about the same thing? Running latest firmware. TonyPh despite the fact that I posted on the wrong forum, you answered me and made me a very very happy man. I can now get content info for all the files on my NAS. You rock, thanks a lot!! I would presume that I could edit the metadata on my computer. Yes, you can. The artwork shows up in some of the views but not the large view. Did you add the thetvdb. This same issue exists on the HUB right now. This is the same across many files. The artwork for that name also shows up continually across these files.
This happens to me as well, exact same as described. I read up over on tvdb forum that they use htpc standards. It is not possible to change the location of the movie sheet images, they must remain in the individual hidden folder. I have tried a few but being on a Mac makes my selection limited. However, this app is multiplatform. There are a few others out there that might do the job better but this one is specifically written for WDTV. Resurecting this thred to clarify a particular comment. One of the posts above states that XML files can be edited easily with any text editor.
What exactly is the step by step process to edit the XML file? I am on a PC with notepad sounds like I should be able to use this as the text editor? Once I open the file using notepad or another text editor, what is the next step to actually be able to edit the text right now I can see it, but it is not editable?
Even if the file is set to ready only via permissions in your OS, you should be able to edit it and save it as another name.
