When you find that rule select it and right click on it. A new dialog will appear. Note If you want to switch to WMI based method only for particular servers create SCOM group and populate the group with the servers you want to monitor via that method.
When you make the override in step 6 override for specific group and choose the custom created group. This will switch to WMI based method for all Windows computers in your environment. Edit the view to show Monitoring Source column. Stanislav Zhelyazkov has been working in IT since His blogposts can be found at www. View all posts by Stanislav Zhelyazkov. I want to know what is available for these server.
Do you know what steps i can take to check on a physical server what is configured. If you want to monitor the servers by WBEM agent you have to create one override. The first column shows what agents are detected.
The second shows which agent is active for monitoring. Hi, as I test you post is inaccurate a little. Did you test it on clean installation or on already configured SCOM?
On clean installation on clean system there is no information about Events. Did you miss something like what have to be configured on Proliant Server side?
SNMP maybe, firewall ports, other thing? BR, Ted. I have a question. If the servers are blades it is good to monitor the enclosure also in order to have the full picture. You do not need to have any HP Insight server or something. I am not expert on the HP licensing and if something has been changed but this was my understanding in the past.
Is that all? Is there a special version for this system? Not sure which version supports WS R2. Hi, what I seem to be finding is that preference does mean preference. What I would like to ask is I find that even a hard disk failure causes only a warning alert. Is this correct? Of course with SCOM you have the option to change it to Critical if that is the case in your environment.
Hi, thanks for your post. I hope you are still reading.. Is it because the MP is sealed? Thanks for your reply… The servers are now being monitored by WMI as per your post. Is there anything else that needs to be configured?
Not sure if there was such monitor. You can check what monitors and alerts are in the MP for that and which are enabled. These are dependency monitors so they are not actual monitors. I may have a look later today in the MP to see what was in. Thanks again… I am trying to find any other help online, but there is not much out there other that the HP documentation which is not very easy to understand and go through.
I have followed the above steps and installed HP hardware monitoring MP successfully. Servers are discovered and is monitored. But we are not receiving alerts. The monitors that are related to WMI should also light up in green. EXample: server networks, logs, management processor are in red but did not get any alert.
Those who are red there must be some monitor that is turning them red. Add SPP Supplements or reduce the download size by selecting pre-defined filter sets or choosing individual filter options. This tab includes only significant Customer Advisories CAs that are known to exist within or be corrected by this release.

When booting the SPP for offline installs, only Linux firmware will be installed.
Please note, SUM does dependency checking during the installation phase. If dependencies are not met, SUM will notify that there are missing dependencies at installation time. SPP Custom Download presents a list of the most common keywords listed by the components in the system. Choosing not to filter the results based on a category means that no restrictions are made for that category e. Linux was not included in the created download.
The offline environment is Linux based and therefore requires Linux components. There is nothing to download. SPP Custom Download offers the option to include a boot environment or to make a smaller package by excluding the boot environment. SPP Custom Download also is restricted to only offer combinations based on a single SPP and its supplements in order to retain the "tested together" results. Doing this allows a customer to create a set of filters that they can save and later re-use on several different SPP versions.
SPP releases are driven by major ProLiant server releases, which occur several times a year. Although driven by the server releases, an SPP may not be released with every ProLiant server release.
